Cocoa Beans, shells, 500g
Cocoa husks are the main by-product of chocolate production. It makes up about 15% of the weight of cocoa beans after roasting.
Instead of letting them turn into waste, we use them to make a very mild chocolate-scented drink called 'tea', by pouring boiling water over them, infusing them and then straining them.
Cocoa husks can also be used in body care as a body scrub. All you have to do is crush them gently and add them to cocoa or shea butter or coconut oil and then enjoy the irresistible chocolate scent and gentle exfoliating properties.
They are also suitable as garden fertilizer.

We have been really honest in choosing the bean growing place. During the trip to South America, we visited several different farms and had the opportunity to personally assess the myriad of cocoa beans. We assessed their quality, cultivation methods and farmers' approach to the environment.
In our own production we use cocoa beans from Colombia, which we import directly from the organic family farm of Justinian Suarez.
